Will you be attending the Royal College of Midwives Conference in Manchester?

I am thrilled to be speaking at the RCM Annual Conference this year which is taking place on 24-25 September at Manchester Central.

This years conference theme is: Working with you locally, nationally and internationally.

It is free to attend for RCM members who may register here.

I will be there on the first day and will have a table where I will be happy to chat to delegates and also have a limited number of my books for sale at a special event price.

My session is:

LET’S TALK ABOUT PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

16:15 – 17:00

‘Considering another baby or becoming unexpectedly pregnant again after a previous perinatal mental illness (or high-risk of becoming unwell) can be an anxious time for both families and the team involved in their care. Elaine will highlight some of the ways in which midwives can ease those concerns by building upon their own skills, knowledge and confidence. Using her personal experience and those shared by others, Elaine will also draw upon research, good evidence-based practice and useful resources. Come and listen to some tips on helping your own mental health too because you need to look after yourself so that you can look after others!’
