I’d like to share and invite you to attend some of the events I will be at in the next few weeks.

On Friday I was in Ashford in Kent to speak to foster carers and social workers about ‘Easing the Pain of Loss’. The aim was to enable them to support the children in their care who often struggle with this.

I am thrilled to be hosting the British Journal of Health Visiting Awards again – this time it is close to home, in Liverpool on 21st March. The ceremony is in the iconic Liver Building.

The week after I am proud to be part of the ‘Let’s Talk Birth Tour’ in Glasgow on 28th March. Please see my previous blog and booking details are here.

It remains a disturbing fact that “Maternal suicide is the fifth most common cause of women’s deaths during pregnancy and its immediate aftermath, but is the leading cause of death over the first year after pregnancy. Next I go to Leeds for the Student Midwifery Conference on 3rd April. The theme is Empowered Women-Promoting Choice and Exploring Vulnerable Situations in Maternity Care.

The next event, on 10th May, is with the charity JOEL – Supporting families through pregnancy and parenting after baby loss. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness of life after baby loss whilst promoting positive mental well-being for dads. Also continuing to support pregnancy and parenting after loss.

This conference is aimed at health professionals, families, employers and education workers. It is excellent value at £20 a ticket. Book here.

I will be bringing along a limited number of my books too, should you wish to purchase a signed copy.

I am also looking forward to speaking to students at the University of Derby via video conferencing.

I am also running a workshop with one of the new perinatal mental health teams.
