Firstly, 5 years!?! Where did that time go?
This is simply perfect Elaine, and rekindles so many of the memories I have of Clive, and yes, when I saw the bridge in Tadcaster collapse I instantly thought of Clive!
I look forward to our meeting together for a coffee, a catch up and a hug. Meanwhile, I shall continue to keep my eyes and ears open for opportunities to practice random acts of kindness, today I shall make a few in Clive’s memory.
With love, keep shining Elaine

Thank you this wonderful blog Elaine, I cannot believe it’s been 5 years.
I found out the news on Facebook that day and it affected me uncontrollably. I only met Clive once, at a Forever Success Day in January 22nd 2011. The reason I remember so vividly was because it was my birthday. I did meet you too when Clive introduced us and I am grateful to still be in touch with you and receive this tag today.
It is a beautiful sunny day today in Colchester, much as I t was the day I found out and I will go for a walk at lunchtime and send Clive my thoughts across the vapour trails of life and I will follow your advise and Clive’s request and give a random act of kindness to someone who may need it more than me.
I wish you a happy day of reflection and I hope to see you soon but until then, keep moving forward in your quest and continuing yours and Clive’s great work helping and inspiring others to be the best that they can be.
All the best
James
This is beautiful Elaine. Thank you so much for writing it and sharing. As you know, was a dear friend of mine and I think of him often. I can’t believe 5 years has gone already since that awful day. His memory is still alive with me and all his friends and colleagues, and that vapour trail continues to flow x
Hi Elaine
Thanks for your message and invitation. Clive will always be fondly remembered by so many people. It’s great to hear your update. I’m so pleased for you and all those who will be richer for your influence too. Keep up the great work!!
Love & best wishes

Great blog Elaine. 5 years on. The anniversary of Clive passing away is in my digital diary. It’s an opportunity to do a few tweets and remember and share some of Clive’s speaking nuggets. Like great quotes, the things you keep and don’t forget. It’s even more of a fitting tribute to be able to carry on and spread those messages when I speak – thank you for allowing me to do that Elaine. People often comment on Clive’s inspiration and it’s also been great helping sell a few copies of Clive’s book for Juli and rase more money for her charity that Clive supported. There is real work to be done now in schools. Clive was a big advocate of helping young people. The latest project Jobology (3 years in) is about alternative careers guidance – in secondaries and primaries now – and have developed some teachers interactive resource tools for secondary schools, pack of playing cards with 52 jobs on. (Same age as Clive.) Present Jobs and Jobs of the Future. Interestingly a very recent new addition, Jobs of the Past, there was jobs included like powder monkey, rat catcher, knocker upper and another one was milkman! In the first sample set I also included a Joker – Ernie the fastest milkman in the west – a picture of Benny Hill! (One of Clive’s favourite tunes which I didn’t know till now.) No matter what I do Clive is always there. His vapour trails. On another note the favourite thing I heard from Clive was the Law of Association. In short we become like the people we hang around with. So true at school eh? I also once saw Clive speak at BradfordNowHere in 2010. This was the daftest thing I ever heard. I went home and told the kids and (my son) Joshua’s reply is one of the things that still makes people laugh so I will leave you with this… Clive Gott “Pigs can’t look up, sheep can’t sit down, and wolves can’t bark.” “And chickens can’t eat toast!” – Joshua Kerfoot (4). Thank you Clive. Thank you Elaine. The vapour trails continue…

Can’t believe its 5 years since Clive passed away!
I had the opportunity to hear him speak several times and he was a truly inspirational man with a wicked sense of humour!
My thoughts are with you x
I heard Clive speak when I worked at Land Securities. He was great and a comment made me think about him today. The words believe you can were used in a conversation in my aspiring business women’s network. I’ll be mentioning Clive when we meet tomorrow. All the best. Denise
